Where I stayed
Camp Stromovka AKA Gypsy Town
From a great little spot along the Vlatva in Cesky Krumlov, we arrived to a different kind of campsite in Ceske Budjevoice. All seemed well and good when we first checked in, a little run-down but nothing amiss, we realised on our return from the brewery tour that we would be spending the rest of the afternoon and night with a bunch of Gypsies who had made the many little bungalows in the site (which were very run-down) their permanent homes. A strange vibes as they watched us quizzically, and got on with their daily gypsy activities, people entered and left the site, a bungalow party broke out, yelling matches ensued at 3am and other kinds of hijinx. Our sleeping bags were slightly damp after the experience. A night to remember and a campsite to avoid in the future.
As for the actual town, there is not too much going on (although the people are very friendly), and the brewery tour is quite nice.
