There was more than a little hype created around the beauty of this city - and, with a hint of suspicion that we might be let down we wearily travelled into Dubrovnik - But, to our amazement it actually lived up to all the tour guide descriptions, internet reviews and stories we were told by fellow travellers.

This is of course no secret, and so the tourists were there in full force, but even that didn't detract from the amazing old city, gorgeous structured alleyways and architecture, as well as its general historical charms.

That being said, the city does not provide overly well for the young, and so it seemed as though our day might be quickly over until we managed to meet Sasha, an expat Croat-Aust. Very quickly we were invited to a Rose-Wine Product Launch, Bar Opening and Frankie's 24th Birthday (we'd meet him at the bash). Turned out to be a great night, and our introduction to Croatia's finest reds - the locally produced Dingac and Postup. Not widely known, but good enough we'd trek our way over to the wineries to get some from the source in Potomje a few short hours later.
