Deciding we needed a holiday from the rough week of food, drinks, fun and excitement had in Bangkok, and the treacherous year ahead of travelling Europe, we headed off to Koh Samet with the gang (which now also included Kirt's Dad - with the difficult name to remember of Kurt).

We spent our first days swimming at the beach metres away from our bungalow, then heading to the restaurant on the way to the beach from the bungalow, or the having awesome cocktails at the bar (which made tom yum martinis!), near the beach metres from our bungalow. Was hard work, so on the last day we hired some scooters (again, Ann suffered a little DOMINATION in the rectal region as her balance had not improved), and whizzed around to some more beaches.

The bungalow we rented was beautiful, cheap, quiet and free from tourists. The beach had soft white sand and the water a clear blue. The bar let us play dub and smoke their sheeshah. It was an amazing little break, and perhaps a bad idea - as i don't think we'll be treated that well once we hit the Eastern Bloc.
