. But that doesn't mean you get good quality food or service for that matter, it actually seems to be quite the opposite. Back home you pay for quality and most places are pretty good especially if you are paying $15 or more for any one course, if it's not good, people just won't go because you can get good meals for $5 - 10 if you know where to go. So we cook most meals here in Switzerland because it's cheaper and because you know it will be half decent. It's nice to spend some time cooking again actually. George spoils me and we eat an overly health supply of chocolate and ice cream, as we must try all the different sorts! It is so nice to have a room to myself and to not feel the pressure of having to see everything before my time runs out! I am not sure how long I want to stay but know it will come to me. In the end it ends up being 2 weeks at which point I plan to go to Italy.
Well I arrived in Zug on the 30th after George came to collect me via train from the airport. She has some train passes (Zugger pass) for me that cost about 35CHF for unlimited train travel in Switzerland for 24 hours. It works out cheaper simply by going to Zurich and back. It takes about an hour to make the trip from airport to Zug which is just bearable considering the hours I'd spent at the airport earlier in the day. I am so glad to see her as she is the first familiar face I have seen since I left Tassie on the 2nd June. But I am not looking my best being not well, over tired and just a bit emotional. Next day in Zug we go for a walk to the lake, around old town and do some shopping. We meet up with Simon and have dinner out at a lake side restaurant. George is disappointed because she wanted to take me to a different place but it is shut. We have an over priced meal before having a pretty early night and hitting the hay. I am soon to realise that food in Switzerland is crazy expensive and eating out is especially so because of the over heads and the wages
