As we crossed the border into Kentucky the change in scenery was drastic. The flat sprawling land of Ohio changed to rolling green hills with changing leaves scattered throughout. Small houses dotted the landscape with horses, cows and deer everywhere. We picked a State Park in Falmouth Kentucky right over the border of Ohio. The pictures looked amazing so thought we'd give it a try. The campground was situated way off the beaten path after miles and miles of winding roads and steep inclines, we reached the campsite. We were 2 of only 10 guests so that was nice. We chose a nice site right by Lake Kincaid (not a lake you would want to swim in but nice enough) The days spent camping are sunny & quiet. We wake in the morning to the site of white tailed deer and wild turkeys. The smell of the forest in Kentucky is refreshing and much needed after staying in cities! We took a 4 mile hike through the woods in the state park encountered yet another white tailed deer and lots of birds. Dinner was an amazing blackened catfish with potatoes, onions and grilled portabello mushrooms. (all done on our grill at the campsite) We opened our gift from the Wedding a nice Chardonnay, thanks seth and sarah! Early to bed and early to rise next stop is Louisville KY ....
