Boquete, a cute town up in the refreshingly cool highlands of Panama. Staying at Pension Marilos, decent hot water showers, comfy beds, huge well stocked kitchen (used to be a restaurant), dining room, books, everything, including a pyscho fluffy dog and a talking parrot. The town is full of supermarkets, all open late, barbers, bars, cafes and bakeries.
We walked part of the Sendero de Quetzales walk, about half. The forest is lovely but was surprisingly quiet and dark. Definitely 'doable' from David and spend the night in Boquete, there is a lot of accomodation.
www.coffeeadventures.net had an excellent tour of their farm - highly recommend them.
