On our way to Rome, we stopped at the Naples National Archaeological Museum to see the artefacts from Pompeii. Saw some of the great mosaics and statues that were removed from Pompeii as well as the "secret room" which houses some of the paintings, statues etc of erotica from Pompeii. Sex and the penis were seen as a talisman to ward off the evil eye, and there were penises everywhere, erect and limp! Don't think the evil eye stood a chance!
On to Roma. We led the kids through Rome to the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona for dinner, and then the Trevi Fountain. It was nice to revisit all these places from our last visit to Rome. Love this city. It's so alive.
