We have finally arrived in Izmir, Turkey. It is Turkey's third largest city with 5 million people - pretty big! It's been 32 hours since we left home, 3 plane flights and very little sleep. You forget how horrible those long haul flights are and then to have a 6 hour stopover in Dubai is murder. Anyway we've checked into the Crowne Plaza which is very opulent - a bit unexpected for a school excursion and are ready to finally get some sleep.Tomorrow, we head to the ancient city of Ephesus which should be really fascinating. Will tell you all about it then...

Great to hear that you have arrived. The journey sounds verrrrry long but I'm sure you will forget after a few exciting days of new adventures. We haven't stopped crying yet because we are still here in Australia and you are there on the other side of the world. Thinking of you constantly. Love Grant and Andrea.
It's so exciting to think you are reading my blog. I'll write when we have internet connection and try to work out how to upload the photos. Then it will be interesting. Thinking of you back home. Wish we were doing it with you guys!
