14th January We drove to Kokrobite. I had trouble finding an ATM that would accept my card. In one bank I tried a local woman, one of the staff, said to me, and she was completely serious, "I want your baby. I like your colour." We camped at Big Milly's Backyard, meeting the AfricaTrails truck from Fez, who were on their last night at in Kokrobite. They told us that they had been unable to get visas for Nigeria, but had got them for Angola (and it took a week!) - but only single entry ones, and they, like us, need double entry ones, as Angola is split into two by the Democratic Republic of Congo (the separate bit is the Angolan enclave of Cabinda). The alternative is to try and get an 'extension' whilst in Cabinda, or to drive up the Congo river in Congo, cross directly into DRC, then into Angola, avoiding the enclave. Vance left for home, and Simon, Todd and Ben (all Aussies) joined the trip. We were cookgroup and did steak - it was voted the best truck dinner of the Gibraltar to Accra leg of the trip! Camped.
15th January We drove into Accra for a day of arranging Visas. We managed to get the visa for Benin sorted in a day, and started the process for Angola. Sian (UK), who is joining the trip, met us at the Angolan embassy for the visa process. On the return drive to Milly's we were 'buzzed' by a taxi - inside was Danielle (Dutch), the last of our 'newbies' - she'd was on her way to Milly's and had spotted the truck ahead, and told her driver to catch us up. Back at Milly's we filled in the forms for the Democratic Republic of Congo visas, and camped.
