After we ate our banana pancakes, Juliane and her fellow farmers, Juan and I visited the national park. We saw so many monkeys & one almost even peed on us (which was strangely awesome!) before it decided to hop across trees. We also saw a baby sloth & a bunch of meekos (what I call raccoons). We hiked most of the trails there (the park was huge!), passing by some more pristine, secluded beaches.
We decided to head back to the main beach outside of the park, Playa Espadilla so that we could have access to some grub & restrooms. We all watched another beautiful sunset and drank more pipas. Ahhh, what a life. We were lucky that the weather stayed warm and sunny until the exact moment that the sun had set. We started to feel some drizzle and we immediately caught a bus back to the hostel before it started to downpour. Of course, we took our routine trip to the market to grab some more beers.
The hostel was playing awesome Spanish club music (my kind of music) so Juan and I decided to go out in Quepos at a disco-lounge called, Republik with these 2 girls from Vancouver. One of the girls didn't know the song, Danza Kaduro. Juan and I just looked at each other and we were like, seriously? You are guaranteed to know that song if you visit any latin american country/a latino bar. Guaranteed.
However, the girls were friendly and easy to hang out with. They shared their Flor de Caña (Nicaraguan rum) and CR cookies, so I liked them even more.
Republik was a lot of fun and it was great to dance the night away. I never felt unsafe while out and we all stayed together as a group. I was pretty tired out the next morning but luckily, I had nothing to do except catch a bus back to San José.
The bus ride was shorter than it was getting there and I had 2 seats to myself, which is like hitting the jackpot. I had just experienced an incredible beach weekend & I managed to find/buy a Christmas tree ice cream bar that I had been wanting ever since I saw these two little girls on the street with some. So, overall I was a happy chica.
