Last free day and closing of YOG

The day started out very, very hot and continued that way right though until now (thank goodness for airconditioning). Anyway hopped on the MRT and you wouldn't believe it but some parents of handball were on the same train, carriage, etc. Couldn't believe it what a coincidence. Anyway decided to spend the day with them because they were off to Changi museum as well.
Couldn't take any pictures but we did the audio tour - it was very moving. Very glad that I did that whilst here. After than, we had lunch at the eatery outside of the museum and it was lovely. Had my first Tiger Beer today, so hot, really enjoyed it a lot.
From there we stopped at Payar Lebar (the stop I get on/off at every day) and went to the markets over the road from the station, haven't been there before. Very interesting.
From there back on the MRT to meet the others before the ceremony for a drink which was most enjoyable and very welcomed after the heat of the day.
The Closing Ceremony was great. It seems that it is more focused on the athletes and for them to begin the celebrations of the completion of the games. It was very good and I got quite a few photos but was a long way from the stage and hard to focus.
In summary, I have had a great holiday in Singapore. The people are lovely, the Youth Olympic Games have been an amazing opportunity for the kids and I have had a great time. There was not one occasion that I was bored or looking for things to do. The people of Singapore are also lovely and very helpful. So thank you Singapore - for a wonderful time in your country.

It all sounds very wonderful Jenny - so glad you've had a relaxing enjoyable time over there. Hoping to catch up with you in 2 weeks when we visit Brisvegas. I'll call you. Safe trip home!
