Well today the girls were given some free time from 10am to 2pm so Holly and Maddie and myself headed off for Orchard Road so they could experience the size and busy-ness of Singapore.  I must say they are not much of shoppers so we decided to do the touristy thing and take photos.  Unfortunately my camera batteries decided that they were not going to do anymore so Holly's camera now has these photos, apart from the few that I managed.

The girls first went on the MRT and thought that was pretty cool, then we walked around (for a long time) decided they would be game and try some local food, which I don't really know if they liked, but it was an experience anyway for them.

On our way out we found a fish spa - this is a place where you put your feet in water and the little fish, hundreds of them, feed on the dead skin on your feet.  We decided that we would do that - it cost us $10 each for 10 minutes, but it was so worth it.  The girls screamed with laughter.  It was such a strange feeling, sometimes it tickled and sometimes the bigger fish (still only small, but big in comparison to the other fish) would nibble with such enthusiasm that you would have to move your feet.  It took us a good five minutes to stop squealing with laughter and settle down to the feeling and the next thing we knew time was us - but it was really fun and worth every dollar - the girls thought that this was one of the best things they have done.

We then went back to the convention centre to watch the final handball matches.  The big one for the girls was the final between Russia (the favourites) and Denmark.  We decided to go for Denmark (mainly because the were the underdogs and also because we were surrounded by the Denmark supporters).  It was such a good game - Denmark won by 2 goals but they came from 6 goals behind at one stage.  Such an exciting game and the girls got to watch high-level competition and what it looks like - what an opportunity for them.

After the game I decided to call it quits for the day and came back to the hotel.  There is due to be a big dance/party at the olympic village tonight, all competitions are completed.  The closing ceremony takes place tomorrow night.

Until then
