Being a shift worker I must be accustomed to jet lag. Ummm maybe not.

I only had 4 hour sleep prior to leaving Melbourne, hoping the lack of sleep may assist me to sleep on route to Santiago. I even took a couple of phenergan but that didn't really worked. I just can't get comfortable in the ecconomy class seat. I am not looking forward to the overnight bus rides in Bolivia and from Campo Grande to Foz do Iguacu.

Fortunately there was no drama getting my airport transfer and booking into my hostel. Somehow the internet photo looks a lot better than the real thing. It is okay really as WiFi access is free and reasonably fast enough for me to use Skype. It is a very noisy place and I can't get much sleep during the day. The receptionist couldn't book my airport transfer for tomorrow, and fortunately with my broken (non existent) Spanish and the broken English of the booking receptionist I think I have book a airport pick up tomorrow.

I walked around Santiago for a little while today. I did not bring my camera for the first trip out. It will be very bad to have the camera damage or stolen just prior the the Antartica trip. I found a nice and affordable hotel near where I am staying. For about double the price I decided to book myself into the hotel when I return in April.

Another early morning start tomorrow. This is a brief overnight stop before flying to Ushuaia the southern most city in the world.
