What I did
Camp
As you will know if you read some previous blog entries, my brother Tim was recently married to a wonderful lady by the name of Cathy (CMac) and that she has two really cool (sometimes too cool!) girls. Well, they recently bough a 32 foot travel trailer and when I discussed a day trip to Mount Carleton to get to the top of the Maritimes, Tim suggested that, since he was buying a trailer (I didn't know this at the time) we could extend a day trip to a three day camping trip and test of the new trailer. This sounded like a good idea at the time and we started making plans.
We decided to leave on Wednesday the 20th of July and come back on the Friday.
Of course this was the day that my cousin Kelly decided to go into labor and give away her water.*
We traveled up to the park and set up the trailer ( a little not level) and had a great time. It rained a lot while we were there but it was a fun trip. We even tried to get to the top of Mount Carleton but the rain was cold and it was not a good idea as we were not dressed well enough. I forgot that New Brunswickers do not live in a rain forest so they don't have the same kinds of clothing that folks in the Lower Mainland of BC would consider to be normal!
It was very nice to get out of the small city of Miramichi and to hang out in nature a lot more. It also reminds me that I need to get back to camping as it really gives me a chance to restore my batteries in ways that other types of traveling merely doesn't.
