For my birthday my good friends Sarah, Mackenzie, and Jessica planned a weekend getaway to Scotland (no big deal) and it was the best birthday weekend ever! We left early in the morning on Friday to catch the train to Leige, Belgium, and then another to Charleroi, Belgium--we had a couple delays in between so we got a little worried that we were going to miss our flight, but we got to the airport with 20 minutes to spare...maybe I learned my lesson after all! Seven hours of traveling later we arrived in Glascow.
The city of Glasgow isn't really the best tourist city The Hostel was huge--it had a lounge, cafeteria, and a bar on the first two floors and our four-bed room was on the ninth floor. Since my 21st birthday was a little crazy and none of us really slept too much we were all wiped so we decided to lay down at 7pm for a little nap...we woke up at 2am in our beds with all our clothes on...quite the nap!! Since everything was closed we didn't know what else to do but got to back to bed...so we did!
After we got all that sleep, we were able to wake up early and start the day off right with breakfast and an opportunity to pack a super sack lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Yes mom and dad, I am trying to save money on all the travels!! We set off to Edinborugh for the day, but that is another entry :)

I've never doubted that you were being cost conscious. I'm so glad that you got to celebrate your birthday over there. What a wonderful way to cap off the trip of a lifetime! Love, Mom
