We are up! We were all up at 6:30 am. We didn't have to worry about sleeping in. Breakfast in the hotel.

Coffee at the Holiday Inn was awful. So after we packed up the bikes in the drizzle we left around 8:30 and found a Starbucks around the corner. It took us about 35 minutes to get to Racine and during that time the clouds parted and the sun started to shine.

First stop was registration and check in. We got there about right after it opened and scored some great $9.99 tshirt deals. This was a great expo we got lots of freebies and deals. In fact we all got gift coupons for $20.00 free merchandise from Trek Bicycle Store of Madison! Thank u! Walked out of there with a bag full of goodies!

The race site is about mile down road. We unloaded the bikes, stickered, stocked and pumped then headed out for a ride to find the start. Wow imagine that it is about a mile down the road. We checked bikes then stuffed ourselves into our wetsuits and off we went for a quick swim.

We got all this done around 2:00 and Danielle was starved and going to turn into a diva if she didn't get some food. Lucky for us we found a great restaurant called The Chancery that met with her approval. It was down on the harbor. Good food and best of all we ordered cheese curds! Ok cheese curds are good! Fried curds and u dip them in ranch and of course ketchup.

We left the race sight and headed to see the lighthouse which we think is the turnaround for the run. Beautiful lighthouse and grounds. Best of all the museum gift shop was open and I got my collector Christmas Ornament. It is filled with sea glass from the lake. Didn't know sea glass was found in lake Michigan. Ashli promised to decorate it for me with the race date and the M dot 70.3.

On our way home we were hankering for something sweet and we came upon an awesome ice cream shop called Skoops. It is local homemade ice cream from Madison and it was awesome! I had butter pecan in a cookie bowel, Ashli mint chocolate chip in cookie bowl and Danielle had waffle cone with French silk ice cream.

When we got back to the hotel I did some van housekeeping then headed up to the room where Dannielle and Ashli were already showered and in jammies. I spent a long time rearranging and repackjng and getting ready for the race. I felt like a mixologist while preparing my bottles for the race. I had bottles of water, tubs of Carbo Pro and Gatorade and I was measuring and mixing up 3 for the bike and 1 for the run.

Since we were all showered and cozy we decided we didn't want to leave the room and scrounged for dinner. So of course we ate a healthy dinner of Cheezits, baked chips, Jammie slammies, Reece's pieces, hummus and pretzel thins, Ensure and whatever else we could find.

Stacy came down to say goodnight and we all watched Sleepless in Seattle and talked about how cute Meg Ryan looked back then before all her plastic surgery. Also how young Tom Hanks looked. Lights out and to bed around 10:00.

Quote from Ashli "this is a true Girls weekend laying in bed in our jammies, eating crap and watching Sleepless in Seattle."

Mom wanted to know what kind of race you were doing because she did not think you usually stopped for lunch and had cheese curds and icecream during a race! I informed her the race was on Sunday!!!
