I went to visit Whale World on my way into Albany. It is the site of the last working whaling company in Australia and was pretty graphic about what happened to the whales and what was involved. I did start to feel pretty sick when they said that worker used to think abituours were better! I went to the Blowholes but they were not blowing but I did see a Bandicoot which is an endangered Australian marsupal - I am not surprised they are endangered ... the one I encountered was stupid. It just sat in the middle of the path as I approached!
I ended up in a brand new backpackers in an old hotel and similar to the rest of the trip in the south west I was the only girl in the hostel. Go figure you spend the whole journey north with girls and the south as the only girl and surrounded by boys who were very strange at times. I ended up escaping to my room when one tried it on a little too enthusiastically!
Last day of my trip and I headed to the Stirling ranges and it was absolutely stunning! We ended up climbing the heighest peak by accident as we just started up the path to get a better view worried about getting stuck up there when it recommended 4 hours and this was 1pm by that time. In the end we climbed it in 2 and half hours and it was stunning. I wasn't nervous of the sheer drops on the side of the path - Karijini has done me a world of good!
