Early morning pack up of 13 relations, 4 cars and who knows how many kilos of supplies. One car was having serious trouble so our game views on the way to the camp were slightly obscured by big clouds of black smoke billowing from the car infront. Our first spotting in the camp was a leopard in a tree - so unusual especially at 3pm in the afternoon. Our rondaval looked pretty basic after the Kyle residence where we did our cooking and socialising. Waust rolls prepared late at night in preparation for a 4am wakeup to go on an organised game drive. Freezing - how glad am I that mum is super prepared with blanket. We see Lion on the road and Elephant and Rhino. We have the torch taken from us by a guy at the back who doesn't think girls can do it and 'he goes on numerous hunts' except he couldn't point the light at an animal if it bit him and shines it straight into the bus instead!
The next day we are driving ourselves and the gates open at 5 30 so we have a lie in until 5am! Except similar to yesterday we see nothing much until about 11am when we stop for lunch. On the way back to retrieve the Kyles we see Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino. 9 hours we spend on the game drive! Enough time to drive to the Mozambique coast!
Monday mum and I have a pretty close encounter with a pair of Elephants who split and one comes out a bush about 10m infront of us. We turn back after 3 hours of sleeping occupants (my cousin fell asleep on every drive we went on almost as soon as we set off). The other car saw a Cheetah - gutting.
Our last day in the park we see a male Lion on the road super close eating a Turtle. Then when we are driving ourselves we see a pride of Lion hiding in the bushes. Makes us realise those pee stops at the side of the road could have been pretty hectic as you can barely see things unless you see movement.

Back to Jo'burg for Jenny 50th birthday party. Us girls showed our strength moving furniture before lots of tidying and food preparation. Monday we are all leaving...mum home, me to Hong Kong, Bri back to Cape Town and the rest of the family to Arnies to unvield the bench. Mum and I have to rush first thing to buy a new backpack where we sit outside waiting for the shop to open. Then pack my bag from plastic bags at the airport in front of the rental car place. Prepared traveller or what??? :)

That's very awesome indeed! I think my favourite is the turtle...no wait...

Now if you could just get them all to stand next to each other for a group photo....
