No, we haven't been eaten by Sasquatch.  We've spent the last month in Salem, Oregon, house sitting for friends and enjoying the ease of modern comforts while stopping to rest and work on music and writing for a while.  Friends, Kristin and Charles, generously opened their home and lives to us.  Talented artists, being around them helped me feel that realization of my own aspirations is possible.  I busked for the first time here.  While my motivation wasn't creation of an income stream, I found that downtown Salem yields about $3 an hour.

We quickly transformed into homebodies again this past month, but we did take a few day trips to
Portland (located approximately 45 minutes north) and Lincoln City (a
beach town on the Oregon coast, directly west of Salem).  We were
privileged to have Clooe's company for most of the month.  A terrific
golden retriever owned by friends, Jason and Silver, Clooe prevented us
from sliding too far into the abyss of laziness and cheered us when we
needed a boost.

As our time here comes to a close (we plan to depart on a rambling journey back east tomorrow morning), I'm sad to say goodbye to friends and the stability of a home base, but excited by the prospect of seeing more of our country's natural beauty.  Yes, new adventures await!
