We were greeted by a gracious staff under the beautiful porte coche.
Mount Corbett was once the winter home of a princess in the British Royal Family. It is built in the style and grandeur of an 18th century plantation house. The house is made entirely of ivory limestone on the exterior and is swept up in a porch that travels around the house in all directions.
Surrounding the house is 4 acres of maturely landscaped gardens, a broad lawn perfect for a game of touch football, soccer, bocce ball or Frisbee. Mount Corbett also has a full sized tennis court and a sparkling swimming pool.

We arrived late in the afternoon and the staff had prepared a snack fitting of kings! We were treated to a similar snack every day we were there. Then it was time to dress for dinner. Mount Corbett is a wonderful place for relaxing during the day, but for the evening meal the staff wants to treat you like royalty, and as such, you should dress the part to be served a 4 course meal in the formal dining room each night.

After relaxing on the porch for evening drinks, we all retired to our bedrooms. The staff are so attentive that they fold down the beds each night, crank up the air conditioning so it is nice and cold, and leave a pitcher and glasses of water at bedside.
Just as the morning sun comes streaming in the windows, if you choose to keep your shutters open to feel the evening breeze, you hear the sound of coffee percolating and dishes clanking as the staff prepares a full (American if you choose) breakfast which is served on the porch while you take in the beautiful Caribbean ocean views.
Honestly, we were happy to stay at Mount Corbett for the entire week without ever leaving the grounds. Who wouldn't want to be served three meals a day, snacks and unlimited drinks, enjoy a massage or two, play tennis, swim, take in the ocean views, and just relax. If you want to get adventurous Mount Corbett has its own driver that will take you on day trips as desired. Dunns River Falls and Ocho Rios are popular destinations, as well as Breezes, an all-inclusive you can visit on a day pass for about $50 a day with unlimited food, drinks and activities. The best thing about going to any of the places is that you get to come back to your kings palace and be waited on hand and foot!
And all at such a reasonable price! For just $5800 during the low season (may - dec) you can stay for a full week. The home is built with 4 bedrooms to sleep 8 and there is also a lower level that can sleep 4 in single beds - perfect for children. Splitting the cost between 4 couple would be just $1450.00 per week. The only other costs are food and at just $150 a week per person (including liquor, wine and beer, 3 meals a day, and snacks) it is a steal. The other costs are the transportation from the airport to the estate, and from the estate to the airport. It is $20 per person each way. So the total bill per couple for a week of living like royalty is $1830.00 - $261 a day!
It's a value that can't be beat.
