The morning after we rode the levy was definitely a slow one. Our plan was to hit the road fairly early, but we slept in until 10:00 and slowly enjoyed some more time with Martha and her family. We stopped by "Momma's" - her mom's little country shop - and said our goodbye's before heading north.

There is so much to see in this part of Mississippi, but we didn't have a lot of time this trip. We did stop by the small Jim Henson museum in the town of Leland, his hometown. The museum had lots of cool artifacts and bits of history about Jim Henson and his creation of Kermit and the Muppets.

We wanted to take our time a bit today, but we were staying with another friend in Atlanta - so, we pretty much had to bust our way straight to the ATL. We did swing by a pretty sweet little produce spot to pick up some goodies for dinner.  I'm not sure what gave it away, but the owner took one look at us and said "You're not from around here, are you?" in a thick Southern accent.

We were going to be staying at an old college friend of Jason's in Atlanta - yet another person we haven't seen in a long time. He and his wife were cooking up a delicious dinner when we arrived, and we had an incredible meal full of lots of fresh veggies from our produce stand and their farmer's market. One thing we were not lacking on this road trip was fresh farm organic produce. One of my favorite things about living in Central America is the abundance of fresh produce stands, so it was nice to come upon a bunch of these driving across the states as well.

Dinner was great, and it was nice to get to know Corey and Anat better over some delicious food and drinks. Once again - another friend we will have to make a point to stop back by and visit on our next road trip.
