Where I stayed
It has been a few months since I have made an entry in my travel blog, but I wanted to take the time to catch up on our trip to the United States since we did get to visit lots of places, friends and family. We went to a ton of places, so sorry about the shortness of the entries, but I really just want to get it all on the map. After Grand Cayman, we returned to the United States. First stop – Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Jason's parents conveniently live in a city that we most likely have to go through when we are going on (or coming back from) our crazy adventures, so it was definitely pleasant to get to spend some more time on beautiful, tropical beaches before heading north.
His parents surprised us (and spoiled us) by putting us up in the Tropi-Rock Hotel down the road from them – and even stocked the hotel with wine, cheese, crackers and more food treats, as well as loofahs, body wash and other amenities that really were such a luxury. We spent a couple days in Lauderdale, and then we went to Naples for a few days. Here, we spent some time on the beach, and we spent a day at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary where we failed at seeing much wildlife besides a few large grasshoppers. Even still, it was a great way to be welcomed back to the states.
