We woke up early for our first day in San Diego as we wanted to see as much as possible.  We drove north to have a look at some of the coast and a shopping outlet mall.  The coast looked really good for anyone that likes to surf but I don't think that swimming was on the cards as it was quite cold, maybe if we go back in summer.

We finished our tour of the north coast and the day was getting on so we decided to have a look at Legoland before we headed back down south.  We finally got to Legoland but the park was only open for a couple of hours and we didn't see the point of paying all that money for 2 hours.  Kel said to see if they had a discount or anything along those lines.  Bonus ... they had a 1 hour shopper pass that cost nothing to get into the park and you could do anything if you got out of the park within that hour.  We took up the challenge and ran around the park taking pictures of everything and anything.  We found that most of the rides had a height limit - you had to be below a height not above - most rides were for little kids and only little kids.  We fiinished our look around and had a quick shop before getting out of the park with 20 minutes to spare, no gym for us that day.

It was back down to our hotel then and a quick dinner at the mall across the road.  We decided to get some washing done as well before going to bed as we had planned a big day tomorrow.

The Sea World day started with a non-planned sleep in, OOOPS.  We managed to start our day at Sea World around 11am and the first thing we did was purchase tickets to the "Dine with Shamu" lunch.  Then it was to the Dolphin pool to meet our new friends.  They were very cool and it was amazing that the park let you get so close.  We found out that they let you feed them so - we came back later to feed them, excitement plus.  We also feed Sea Lions, played with some Rays and had a look at the shark enclosure before going to have lunch with Shamu.

The lunch was fantastic - once in a life time thing - the whales got as close as a metre away and they are huge.  It was cool to see them play and have fun without the pressure of a show.  They really can get themselves out of the water when they want.  Finished lunch and went to watch the Shamu show.  The show fnished and then we went to the Antartic enclosure to see a Polar Bear, Baluga Whale and Walrus before leaving the park for Downtown San Diego.

We got to Downtown San Diego and walked the length of the shore front.  We then walked along 6th street and stumbled across an Australian Pub.  You'll never guess who we found there - STEVE - he had been there all day getting back to his roots and drinking Aussie Beers.  After we had a beer it was time to take STEVE home.  We had dinner at a nice restaurant in downtown and then drove back to our hotel.  USS Midway and Mexico was tomorrow and we both wanted a good sleep.
