Justin and I had being looking forward to this trip since Christmas. Nothing beats getting away for a long weekend and then throwing Dave Matthews in for good measure. It was the best mini break I've had in along time.
We depart for Newcastle and MY GOD was it early. We got on the train and sort of just sat there numbly but in the end tt was worth it because we arrive around lunch time so we had a good afternoon wandering around the city. We saw the millennium bridge and the funky glass building. We walked here and there and even through a pack of yobs. We were very brave soldiers.
Our hotel room was amazing!!! We had out own separate lounge room with wide screen TV and a few other mod cons to make us feel like a pampered little princess and King. And boy did Justin think he was king! I took a shower to get ready for the nights festivities, I came out in the lounge to find him with the TV blaring, one hand on the remote, and one hand in a crisp packet and a beer on the side. He was beaming for ear to ear. Only one thing I didn't like about the suit was the fact they didn't have any conditioner for my hair! WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!
That Night was Dave Matthews. What an Amazing gig! No supporting act but he did have Tim Reynolds with him. The things he did with that guitar. At times it felt like he was carrying Dave Matthews! We had these annoying Americans sitting behind us! Now it's not the fact that they were American it was the fact they wouldn't shut up! "Oh my god he's so drunk." "Oh my god he's so wasted." "Oh my god what is he doing?" "Oh my god I've never seen him like this" "OH MY GOD IF YOU DON'T SHUT THE HELL UP I'M GOING TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE YOU!" Dave then made a joke on stage about Americans being loud which Justin and I gave a standing ovation. It was priceless. "Oh my god, why would he say that!"
