I got up nice and early today and headed out to the Mossman Gorge. There is a great trail walk about 3km around past the river and up into the rainforest. I got there nice and early and managed to have the place pretty much to myself. You can swim in the water holes there and it is one of the most picturesque places I have ever seen. So many shades of green! I found a little water hole at the back of the trail and went for a swim. It was the Brooke Shelds Blue Lagoon moment I had always dreamed of, haha. Plus bikini of course. Not so sure getting my kit off and being sprung by a bus of Japanese tourists was a part of that dream.

My friend from work Krysta was coming to meet me at lunchtime. We booked a room at the Sheraton Mirage Resort with the intention of laying by one of the 8 saltwater pools... Unfortunately yet again the weather wasn't so interested in playing ball. Instead we went into town, had coffee and scones, then a few beers and went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

We ended up finding a gem of a restruarant called Watergate and Krysta and I sat at the bar and had tapas and cocktails before hitting the town. Port Douglas is average at best as a holiday destination. I'm glad I went but it has a very 1990's manufactured/slightly tacky feel to it.

We found a great little place called Under Wraps in the main street of Port to have breaky in and then I headed home to start another week of work.
