The glasses have clocked many miles the last two days - all on two lane roads. Lots of beautiful country and lots of wacky stuff. You don't miss as much at 45 mph. Where we could, we turned the car around to get a picture then asked each other, "Are U-Turns legal in ________?" We are grateful to have made it this far and avoided arrest!

During breakfast one morning, I looked up and saw this sitting on the bar and knew what I had to do... And THEN the waitress offered to plug it in! When I asked her what she called this, she said very matter of factly without a moment's hesitation, "Sputnik."

Makes sense to me.

The glasses met this guy outside a bait/convenience store in rural - really, really rural - Louisiana. It was an interesting mix of stuff: this guy, coolers of live things and glass display cases in the women's room selling fancy-dressed dolls. I just love a road trip.
