Where I stayed
Sorry about the lack of updates but the internet is expensive (2baht a minute), but essentially we spent most of our time here just chilling walking/shopping in Tonsai vllage or lounging on the beach.
We only booked one night in Harmony Hotel on Ko Phi Phi, which was fortunate because our room was LITERALLY next to a building site!!! The building continued until 7pm and started at 8am the next morning. Needless to say we found an alternative - Oasis Guesthouse - which was cheaper (300baht = 7 pound), quieter and cleaner
The first night we had a few beers on the beach, which was really kool. All the bars had laid out mats and cushions to lie on the beach, with candles, lanterns and neon lights to relax away the evening. The pics and my description doesn't do it justice.
We did go on "the tour" on a longboat around several parts of Phi Phi Lay, which included watching other people jump off cliffs, snorkeling (amazing because the water was so clear) and going to Maya bay, where "The Beach" movie with Leonardo di Caprio was filmed. Getting to Maya Bay was a mini rock climbing/swimming adventure in itself as we had to go in the "back entrance" and climb over slippery boulders with the sea waves crashing against them. This was definitely NOT in the promotion leaflet. But I'd still do it again as it was soooo beautiful inside, picture postcard of a secluded beach cove with white sands.
We'll be uploading photos of Langkawi, Krabi and Phi Phi, Phuket, Bangkok soon!
