We spent the first day in Karajini hiking and swimming in Dales Gorge, the Fern Pool and Forteque Falls. It was a boiling hot day and the hikes were pretty hard going. The water was freezing and definitely cooled us down. We were all shattered at the end of the day. We headed back to the camp to relax although we didn't get to do too much relaxing there were red backs everywhere (dangerous spiders)! There were a load under the picnic bench which our guide killed. When Carol and I went to go to the toilet later we lifted the lid of one toilet and about 5 cochroaches ran out and in the other toilet there were 4 red backs! We decided to put a tent up as we couldn't face sleeping in a swag with all the spiders around us! The tent felt like luxury and we were at last able to relax.
The second day at Karajini was one of my favourites. We spent the day again hiking and swimming but the hikes were more of a climb than a walk. There was one part called the 'Spiderwalk' which was on a thin part of the gorge where you had your hands and feet on either side of the gorge with the water below you and you just had to edge your way along, it was really cool. In another section we had to leave our boots behind and swim across then climb down a waterfall using a rope!
