From Hong Kong we drove across the bridge to Lantau Island on our way to Po Lin Monastery, founded in 1906. The trip begins with a 3 mile cable car ride across the bay and up the side of a mountain. Train and I decided to splurge for the glass bottomed cable car (courtesy of the Wynn Macau) so we could see everything on the way up. A brisk day in Hong Kong turned into damn cold when we reached Ngong Ping.
