Make a wish....
Have we lapsed back into our comatose state or is this for real? We are beginning to think this is all too good to be true.
After a good nights sleep, Jim test-drives the spa bath (oh how we are going to miss these little luxuries when we try REAL camping!).
Unfortunately for us the campsite swimming pool is shut - the locals reckon it's still too cold but the weather forecast today is 29deg.
The Park here is very quiet but we are not complaining. Not at all like Hawthorn Park, there are lots of static caravans and residents here in a variety of mobile homes, from posh to plain daft, behind our chalet is an old converted school bus with bits added on - anything goes (except the bus of course) but all very quaint and clean. Each plot has a little garden and the plants are gorgeous.
Perth is beautiful too! We found our way to Barrack Street Jetty on the Swan River, just in from of the skyscrapers and Swan Bell Tower with an old bell from a church in London A very impressive landmark but also $10 each to go up so we didn't bother, never the less Dan took some fab photos.
Our next amazing discovery was the waterside restaurant Annalakshmt who's slogan is "Eat to your heart's content and pay what your heart feels" so we did! Indian hospitality - you can't beet it - we might be back!
Cruises up the river are plenty here but we decide to wait till Friday for the house boat trip...
We hit the shops in the city centre for sun hats and thongs - not the underwear variety - flipflops to all Pommies! Prices here seem much the same as back home. Em's in her glory! McD's are pretty similar too. When shopped out we head off for our first sight of the ocean in all its glory at Scarborough Beach, we're sure it's much nicer than the same in the UK. We will be back tomorrow for more...

Hi from the US
Hi Bev and Jim,
This is Bill Kamego. I got this site from Juliet. It's a pretty cool way to document your trip.
We were in Australia in 1998. We only did the eastern side of the country. I'm curious as to your take on the western end. Our son Greg went to university with a guy from Perth. If I find out his name I'll send it on.
On our trip I did a taste test of as many Aussie beers as possible. My favorite was VB (Victoria Bitters)
Hi again
I hit the send button instead of the Preview.
I wanted to say, let me know what your favorite beer is after your journey. I'm sure you'll have a great time, we certainly did. We found the Aussies to be as friendly as the Brits.
We'll both be following your trip.
