Where I stayed
Grandma's house
I got up at 11:00. I had a only grabbed a muffin before we heard it was time to get my car to Medlyn Motors for a checkup. Grandma and I left around noon and I followed her to the place my grandpa always took his car. My dad called ahead talked to Ed. He and I tested the start up and then we left it with him. Grandma and I went on to Market Basket to do the shopping for dinner. We were very thorough and filled the shopping cart. She also bought and bunch of beer: a six-pack of Sam Adam's Summer Ale and a sampler box of Saranac from Utica, New York. Not many grandma's stock you up on beer! We also got some good bread and hummus for lunch. I loaded and unloaded all the groceries and put them away back at the house. We had a late lunch after 2:00. I put together a spread: french bread with hummus, leftover tuna and cottage cheese, been salad, and reheated turkey sausage. We had more lovely conversation and then played Sequence. Then we both took rests until after 5:00. I was gearing up to cook Navajo Tacos.
Grandma set the tone when she turned on Andrea Bocelli and I started meal prep at 5:45. My pale ale was delicious too and then Brian walked over soon after and brought more beer! I made the frybread dough and chopped up toppings while it rested. Winnie soon arrived and helped and we got a chance to talk. Hannah and Grandma played sequence and Brian set the table. It felt very cozy but we always miss Grandpa. Winnie was excited to watch me fry the bread and get my recipe. I think I showed her that it's pretty simple. We all loaded our plates up at the counter and ate around 7:00. Everyone loved it but only Grandma and I could finish. A Navajo Taco is so much more filling than it looks. It actually put Brian to sleep on the floor! The others took theirs home. Winnie put leftovers away and I washed dishes. We girls played a few rounds of Apples to Apples before we all got too tired. They all left shortly after 9:00. Grandma and I played a game of Skipbo and then said goodnight at 10:00. I watched a coupe shows and called it good at midnight.
