So today's our last day in the desert, time flies when you're having fun! It also flies when you're only in one place for 4 days...

So yesterday we went to the Red Sea and it was SO NICE! We laid on the beach for most of the day, went snorkeling, and worked on our tans. The snorkeling was pretty good, although when you've been to St. John in the Virgin Islands it's hard to compare...But just the fact that I was snorkeling in the RED SEA was so cool! Some people saw an octopus, I wasn't that lucky. Oh well, I'm not a big fan of eight-legged creatures, so if I DID see one I would have wanted it to stay far away from me. But regardless, yesterday was a lovely day and we ended it with a SPECTACULAR end-of-Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner with a couple of the families here on the Kibbutz. We ate salad, eggplant (which I discovered I'm not a fan of), handmade pitas, green beans, broccoli, all kinds of delicious food that they had grown right here in the kibbutz!! so fun :)

So today we heading over to Arava, which it turns out is a kibbutz down the road. I thought we were actually going to Arava this week, but here we are in Lotan. But at Arava there is a small university that is well known in Israel has having an excellent environmental/ecological program, so we're heading over there to see it. Tonight, we're heading up north to Tel Aviv where we will be spending another 4 or 5 days having meetings with various environmental and political figures. Sounds like it should be pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to being back in Tel Aviv for a longer period of time than just the first night we got here. I'm also hoping to go to the beach on the Mediterranean!!! Hooray!

Less than 3 weeks left!!
