Today was the day!!!!!!!!!!

I had been looking forward to going back to Petra as it is so amazing but Petra's Revenge got the best of me again. This time I was prepared and took some meds right away so I could make the trek with Mom and Dad. Breakfast had been a buffet but it didn't stay with me long.

Tickets were bought-1JD for me and 21JD each for Mom and Dad. I love having that residency card! We had decided to go as far as the Treasury and see how we were after that. The hike down is easy-it's all down hill. It's just the coming back part that is a killer and I didn't wan't to do that in the heat of the day. Ugh...

Once again, this is an amazing place to visit! I didn't take as many pictures this time but head was still on a swivel to see all the green this time. When I was there in October with Kia-there had been no color except the stone. There were some changes that make me think that the Ministry of Tourism is getting the message that this place needs to be more attractive to tourists-garbage cans, benches and dressed up guards greeted you at the entrance to the Sik. Now if all the cigarette buts could get picked up that would be great!

Mom and Dad were amazed as they walked though-I don't know how else to describe the adventure. Once we got to the Treasury, we walked around and then had Cokes. A breather was necessary! This time we met a group of Greeks from Thessolaniki that knew of the Farm School and one women had connections to Tad and Bruce-friends of Mom and Dad's. This really brings home the meaning of a small world!

It was around noon so we started the walk back out. We got back to the hotel about 1:00 so there was still time for a swim and a nap for dad. :-) Mom and I went swimming in a really warm bath tub. It felt refreshing when we got OUT and had a breeze on us-not the other way around! 2:00 was check out time and time for us to make the trek back to Amman.

We pulled in around 5:00ish and then had to unpack the car, grocery shop, and figure out what to do for dinner. There was a little food in my frig but thank goodness for pasta so I had something to go with it! I roasted a bunch of veggies that I had left over from the party, got some cheese out, made a salad, and had a fairly decent dinner. I also got a haircut(much needed in my opinion) and Dad cleaned my light fixtures and put in new bulbs for me. It suddenly was much brighter in here!! We watched the news and downloaded pictures for a chuck of the evening. Steve and Anita came up for coffee and just chatted for a bit.

Soon is was 10:00 and time for bed as tomorrow was another day for adventures!
