Well, I'm in Bochum and I'm looking at a drunk Dave as we are going to go to Berlin, tomorrow. Dave just went upstairs. Well, I've been here for 5 days and in the process, I was able to meet Derek and Keegan, whom were with me in Frankfurt and Matt, which made my stay in Frankfurt a lot of fun. Keegan and Derek were from Chicago and were off to Israel in the end and we had a lot of fun trying to drink on the rainy streets of Frankfurt on the first night while i got settled in. Though, we met this douche bag of a brit name Mick. He really didn't make a good stereotype for the brits because he was the only one I have met so far on this trip. In Frankfurt, I just tried to see what i could and get settled down, at the same time. I didn't want to move right away in Frankfurt...so, I spent a day just getting accustom to things because I arrived at 5:40pm to Berlin and just relaxed the first day and thought it was aweosme that beers were 2 euros and that you could drink anywhere.
However, you learn quickly, as I did, 2 euros is a ridiculous price for beers in Germany. You only should pay no more than a euro. Anyway, Frankfurt saw me see a club the next night with Keegan and Derek as we went out at 2am...Oh god...and I left at 4am, as they had to catch a flight at 5am. I know they're there and guys, hope you are having fun.
Next stop was Koln. After adventuring at the Frankfurt Hostel, which I HIGHLY recommend. I went to the Meinger Hostel in Cologne. Now, this city has a lot of what I like about Germany. You can walk everywhere and not have to deal with cars, and you can drink everywhere. There is a good view on the rhine. So, the first day, i spent looking for my hostel and then, as soon as i checked in, I decided i'd check out the Dom. This cathedral was awesome and presented a gothic look at architecture. I proceeded to check out the Schnidelgasse, up to Hohe Strasse, which is the main shopping strip. With beer in hand, it was a good adventure for the calves. This brought me back to the hostel to meet Matias and Ben. Ben is from Ireland, and Matias is from Barcelona. I became pretty acquainted with Matias as he has a simliar attitude as me and we grabbed a bite and with ben, headed to a park to relax and just act like a local near a park. There, we saw about 100-200 ppl just relax and be Germans. Though, there was a group of italians behind me wihch i could understand and it was quite funny how the lady was complaining about German hair not being attractive.
Finally, the next day saw me say by to Matias, but, it's okay, hopefully i'll see that dude in barcelona when i see Stiller at Festa La Marce. Now, the next day saw me do the Rhine river tour, see the Pathenon (It's the roman runes underneath the city hall of cologne) and visit the chocolate factory with a very nice aussie named Aleisa who happened to see me yapping on my ipod touch with Dana at 3am local to German time, and she was worried she'd wake me up...Haha, I thikn not, don't worry about it Aleisha and safe travels.
Finally, now, i'm in Bochum. The train ride was quick, some locals gave me tips on where to put my backpack. That's one thing about the Germans. The old ones may stink really bad, but, they are very hospitable ppl and they are willing to help you, regardless of not knowing the language. And they want to speak to you in English to improve. Well, i get here and immediately see Dave and Adrienne. Damn, did it feel good to see someone I knew. Holy shit. Anyway, i got here and the first night, we just went to a restuarant and got acquainted with liquor in the Bermudadereick (Bermuda Triangle). It gets that name because everyone goes there to have a good time and they get hammered and get lost in the obyss. I could see that because we sat down for about 3.5 hrs and only had 12 beers, two burgers and nachos between the 3 of us. Second day here saw me relax till 1030am, i needed it.
I adventured around and saw that all Bochum has to offer. Not really that much, we ate with the students and took public transit. And then, we went back oday to party at Bermuda and just drink and have a donar. We were going to check out Havanna (Lol @ fucking up Havana). But, it looked stupid especially for the 3 euro...Or 50 euro you'd have to pay if you lost the entry ticket...which was stupid
Well, time to hang up. First post in the . See you guys soon and i'll continue bloggin when i can.
