The safari trekking across 4 national parks of Tanzania starts with entry into the Tarangire National Park.  With anticipation of spotting countless herds of elephants, zebras, etc, Greg and I headed out with East Africa Safari and Tours Co from Arusha on June 10.  It was a 5 day trek that would take us west all the way to Mwanza, and our team included Greg, myself, our driver Hedrick and our cook Michael.  By no means was it roughing it, at least not according to Greg and I.  Our days started after a hearty breakfast including omlets, bread, coffee, some type of fried meat, and fruit.  Lunches were prepared for our safari drives to enable us to maximize our game viewing time in the parks.  Dinners - absolute feasts.

Tarangire was interesting, but not nearly as special as days to come in other parks.  Spottings that day included quite a few elephants, as can be seen on the attached pics.  National Park (NP) Manyara was much better, albeit smaller, than Tarangire.  Herds of elephants, a leopard chillin out in a tree just snoozing away the day, millions (and i mean millions) of flamingos, a handful of hippos, and fantastic troops of baboons entertained us throughout the course of this park day.

Following entries will essentially speak for themselves thru the pics, but I must say that anyone who has not yet participated or taken part in a safari, if he/she has a chance it is essential over the course of a lifetime.  Exhilarating seeing and hearing animals so close, in the open, with all that is seperating you and them is a pane of window glass of your car.
