Arriving on the Sunshine Coast the first thing we noticed was the humidity. After 4 days in the dry outback, the Queensland weather made our flipflops squelch and our armpits pour. Luckily the sea was close by for a dip in the lovely warm waters (23 degrees!). We stayed in a garden villa which after the dryness Queensland felt green and lush.

We relaxed around Noosa Heads town in the day and enjoyed the downpour of rain in the evening to cool us down, although sprinting to dinner without any rainproof gear was a challenge all made worthwhile with Kim's first experience of Morton Bay Bugs.. now that is a meaty shellfish. The next day welcomed the arrival of Sally, Hassle and Emma - friendships spanning over 14 years and not having see them for most of those years.. A reunion called for cocktails in the sunshine, cards and gin with the possoms on the balcony and perhaps even a little late night skinny dipping in the sea (thanks girls, we all love a little nakedness). Our reunion ended like most good ones should.. hungover. The boys relaxed, the girls went shopping before they left us to head back to Brisbane but knowing that we may see each other again and not have to wait another 12 years!
