I was lucky and secured a seat in the emergency exit row on my flight from London to SFO--it makes a world of difference. I watched "The Chariots of Fire", had a chat to a great woman next to me, slept for a few hours thanks to Ambien (my drug of choice) and finished reading my book. Dad actually came into the airport terminal outside baggage claim and met me there, opposed to trying to rendezvous on the curb as per our usual procedure. A nice welcome back to the USA, and an even nicer one with my mom greeting me with a home cooked meal and a glass of wine!
I had roughly 40 hours back in California before heading back to SFO and catching a flight down to Cabo for Pete and Amy's wedding. Just enough time to do my laundry, get to the gym, get to the salon for a few beauty treatments, and pack for Mexico! And then we were off. Another day, another country....
