In our quest to reach the western United States as fast as we can we spent another day mostly driving.  We did have a chance to stop for lunch in Topeka Kansas where we ate at Bobo's Drive In.  It was really good, the onion rings were made from scratch and they were everyone's favorite thing that we had.  After lunch we headed to the Brown vs. Board of Education Museum.  The museum documents the major events of the civil rights movement in the United States.  It was pretty interesting, even though we were the only ones in the museum.

We planned to drive until we came to a campsite where we could stop for the night.  After calling home for some suggestions we decided to try and make it to Prairie Dog State Park near Norton, Kansas.  We left the interstate for a smaller two lane highway.  It had been raining all day but we were hoping that it would let up before we got to the campsite.  As it got dark the rain got harder.  Apparently Kansas does not believe in lights or reflectors for their roads, which made for some stressful driving.  We finally made it to the park at around 11pm, but it was still pouring outside.  We decided to sleep in the car.

After a long and cold night we woke up and decided we needed to get a good breakfast to make up for the lack of sleep.  The Frontier Motel and Cafe looked promising so we stopped and went in to get some food.  The food was amazing!
