Again beautiful scenery on the way. We stopped at the Soldotna Visitor's Center. We ran into a couple who lives in Batesville, IN (the city I worked in for 10yrs - 15 minutes from my house). We stopped in Ninilchik, AK to go Halibut and King Salmon fishing on Wednesday. Can't wait, we found an outfit that added the Salmon fishing in order to fill a boat. Now I hope we catch one, as they are just starting to run. It is only 52 out and we are seeing babies in diapers and t-shirt crawling around on the pavement. They must raise them to withstand the long cold winters. 52 here is our 75. The bears are active but still in the mountains, waiting for the salmon to run. Didn't see any moose or any wildlife except for several bald eagles. I figured they are hiding out with their young. The views are breath taking, on the road to Soldotna. Kenai River with the mountains in the background. We are still having approx 16 hrs of daylight. Doesn't bother us, we are ready for bed at 10p.
