This morning we left early for school as school starts at 8am. Vicky wanted to help build the volleyball court at camp so I went alone. In the mornings all of the school have physical ed until 9 but on a friday my kids have pe until half 9. We did art all morning, we did some fingerprinting and some colouring of drawings I had made the night before. I am going to make profiles of the kids as at camp they don't have a recent file on the school so I asked Golda if I could copy their goals and achievements out of her book. After lunch I felt much better than the day before so I decided to head to Palolem with the others, I packed my stuff and then we got a lift to the Margoa bus station to catch out bus to Palolem, the bus was only 30 rupees but was incredibly crammed, it was fun though. We got to Palolem and had been told by others at the camp the best place to stay was in Patnem, which was a half an hour work down the beach, we all walked to Patnem and stopped for a drink and met up with the others who had ridden their bikes down. We then went in search of a beach hut, some of the huts were more basic than the others prices ranged from 500rupee to 2000rupee a night, most huts you could fit 3 people in and as we were a large group we had trouble finding somewhere with 6 huts free. We eventually found somewhere for 800rupee a night and split into twos. The huts were nice enough, large bed, locking drawer, hot (!) shower etc. We all went for dinner at Namaste a restaurant right on the beach 5 minutes walk from our huts. We all had wetern food and afterwards went for a few drinks next door. The election is soon in Goa so nowhere can serve after 11pm which is a bit weird.
