Via the Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysée and the canals of Brugge

Via the marijuana filled streets of the red light district of Amsterdam, the bikes and bacon of Denmark and a day trip to Sweden

Via the Berlin wall, Hitlers Olympic stadium, concentration camps and currywursts

Via Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Chain Bridge and the reminders of former Eastern Bloc communism

Via the tallest people on earth and their coastline castles in Croatia, Michaelangelo's David and a certain leaning tower

Via the sinking city of Venice, a dozen pasta dishes, the Popes residence and the former battleground of the original Gladiators

Via a trans-Mediterranean boat journey, Parc Guell, La Rambla and the site of my one travel CV blip

Via a swift increase in temperature of Madrid, the windey streets of Sevilla, gazpacho soup and late night tapas

Via a cultural shock in Tanger, tajines, medinas and nights in the Sahara

Via the peak of Jebel Toubkal, searching high and low for food during Ramadan, lazy Atlantic strolls and rescuing ourselves from ghost trains

Via the pyramids, the Nile, coral reefs and sheesha

Via Lake Victoria, chimpanzees in the rain forests, white water rafting and surviving gravity defying African buses

Via an epic bus journey through Kenya, 3am stop off's in Nairobi, being stampeded by food sellers and getting used to being the only Mzungu's in sight

Via increasing altitudes and decreasing temperatures, altitude sickness, the top of Kilimanjaro and a surprise wedding proposal

Via a "yes!", a very achey few days, Tanzanian elections and the resulting ghost town that was Dar es Salaam

Via the amazing Ruaha, lions, giraffes, hippos, kudus, elephants, buffalos...

Via attempts to con us in Mbeya, wrong matatu's that nearly led in to Zambia, boda boda's that just about managed with our bags and non stop views of Lake Malawi

Via total relaxation, the slight hint of crocodiles, the worst food in Africa and spending the night travelling on the Ilala

Via pickup trucks, extreme sunburn, the stares of bemused locals and the craziest most life changing nine days of our lives

Via the best seafood on earth, struggles through Portuguese, desert islands and attempts to ride the waves

Via the pleasant surprise of Zimbabwe, the relentless rainy season, broken down matatu's and an impromptu safari

Via walking with lions, the billions of Zimbabwe dollars, Victoria Falls and watching a giant herd of elephants drink from the Zambezi as the African sun went down

Via the almost forgotten feeling of driving on tarmac in Botswana, drifting through the Okavango delta, seeing how the bushmen of the Kalahari lived and sampling some African road kill

Via Soweto and all it's history, a crack head or three, the penguins of Simonstown and the completion of Cairo to Cape Town

Via Christmas on the beach, a positive pregnancy test, the best Christmas present ever and news of our first child

Via our apartment in Buenos Aires, a day trip to Uruguay, tango shows and non stop beef

Via Spanish attempts at medical terminology, our very first baby scans, seeing it's heart beat and the efficient medical system most other countries seem to have

Via Patagonia, Perito Moreno glacier, Torres del Paine and the gangs of stray dogs

Via sailing across the Andes, Chilean traditional German towns, cockroaches in soup and the most comfortable bus journeys in the history of the world

Via Eiffels lesser known structures, the different world of Peru, archeological digs and seeing our baby moving about

Via Mexico en route to the Big Apple, Central Park, The Statue of Liberty and shockingly cold evenings at the top of the Empire State Building

Via becoming a local in New York, getting our very own Manhattan pad, ice hockey games and discovering our baby is to be a girl

Via Niagara Falls, the Freedom Trail, snow covered upstate and being the only tourists in the cute New England town of Mystic

Via Vegas! Non stop life, losing money but not caring and endless food to die for

Via the Grand Canyon, Yosemite national park, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge

Via a little slice of British Asia in Hong Kong, delicious food, incredible markets and colourful temples

Via visa difficulties, panda bears, cooking delicious Sichuan food and twenty nine billion mopeds coming straight at you

Via an epic train journey, the Terracotta Warriors, serene Chinese gardens and standing out just a little from the crowd

Via the Forbidden Palace, chop stick shopping, steamed dumplings and walking along the Great Wall of China

Via a few hours in Russia with no access to money, relaxation time in Denmark, finally seeing that frikkin' mermaid and a bit more bacon

Via sailing across the North Sea, tackling Londons wonderfully user friendly public transport system, holding onto our final tickets and just a few hugs...

...we're home.
