We left our lovely street campsite in Sarina and drove to our next destination - Agnes Water and the town of 1770.
It was another big drive and nothing note worthy to report - although the price of fuel has left us very excited (the simple things in our life....).
Its a big drive in off the highway to these towns but well worth the drive. We have officially hit territory that we have been to before - so in actual fact, the tour and discovey of new towns is now over :( but we are now going to places that we know and love before we get home.
These 2 towns are magic and as the name suggests - 1770 was the year that the town was officially discovered, making it one of the first towns discovered in Qld. There isnt much here and we headed into the caravan parks (there are 3 here) and was told there were no sites - again! Cant believe how busy it is on the Qld Coast.
Thanks to some people we had spoken to on the tour we knew that there was a council parkground somewhere here - and although the locals didnt seem to want to tell us, we found out where the park ground was. And it was lovely! No power, but a walk down the hill to a beautiful little beach - Workmans Beach. So we settled in for another night without movies and this time we both fell asleep at about 7.30pm.
This morning we woke up and headed to a few beaches - including the beaches up at Deepwater National Park - now fenced off with massive security gates and obviously with the best views this side of Qld (apparently a relative of the Myer chain owns it?) and the beach - Springs Beach was officially rated Johns favourite spot.
So power tonight - and for the next few nights as we hang around here and enjoy the sun and water and before we make the trek to our next stop.
