One of the things Damo and I were looking forward to was a 3 night/4 day cruise on a Turkish Gullet Yacht. So after Kas we headed to Fethiye where most of the cruises start and after finally ditching the car decided that as Fethiye was not really exciting that we would book our cruise for the following week and head to the beach at Oludeniz for a couple of days. Once we arrived at Oludeniz we knew we had made the right decision - it is the home of the famous Blue Lagoon.

After having lunch it was time to head out and find some accommodation so we headed up the road to the 2 camping sites to see how much their bungalows and caravans were - $70-$100/night. Not exactly Turkish prices so it was back to the beach where Damo found a hotel 2 mins away (he didn't know at the time it was so close to markets!) where we had aircon, TV, ensuite, pool table and a swimming pool and bar for half the price of the crappy camp sites.

Our day consisted of breakfast by the pool, followed by 8 hours of reading, swimming, drinking and eating by the pool under the shade of our umbrellas, a game of pool with an arvo drink, followed by dinner at a local restaurant, game of ten pin bowls followed by a drink on the beach at night. This is what we did for the next 3 days!

Then unfortunately it was back to crappy Fethiye to jump on our gullet yacht. As we jumped on we noticed the Aussie flag flying - 8 out of 14 of us were Aussies so guess that's why they had it up. Then it was time for 4 days of sun and swimming. The water was beautiful everywhere we went and there was free snorkelling gear on board so Damo and I ended up snorkelling most of the day and found that in some places the cold and hot water mixes together from underwater springs causing a rippled cloudy effect underwater which was something we had never seen even when diving.

We were very comfortable on the boat (managed to sneak on some of our special water!) except for night time breezes on deck which were over 30 degrees. There is no aircon or fans on the boat so sleeping on deck is the done thing during the hotter months. Most of us didn't get very good night sleeps so by the time our cruise was done we were all ready to crash when we arrived at our treehouses in Olympos.
