Now we were off to my mum's homeland and to visit some relatives I hadn't seen for nearly 15 years. After a horrific 4 hour flight - it was so turbulent I nearly squeezed Damo's hand off. Of course I was the only person panicking, mum was having a sleep - we had to wait an hour for the next bus into town and got stuck talking to a British guy bragging about visiting the local bars to pick up prostitutes. Could not wait for the bus to come. When we arrived at the bus station my uncle started taking our luggage off the bus and putting it into his boot, including someone else's bag who was on the bus banging the windows to get a security guys attention. Good thing my uncle looks honest!

We were then taken to my Uncle and Auntie's place where they had 3 maids serving us our meals. My relatives thought we were starving ourselves, but the amount of food there was was unbelievable. Beats the buffets you get at 5 star hotels! It's tempting to move to the Phillipines as hiring cooks, cleaners, drivers etc is so cheap - about $75 per person a month live in.
