Caballo a El Ranchito
We decided to go to a horse show rather than partake of the paella and flamenco night on offer at the hotel.
A bus took us to Torremolinos where I had strong memories of trying to be poisoned in 1975. However this was a pleasant surprise as the horse show was of a very high standard. It is an equestrian centre and has a court for showing the horses performing to music. A Show called 'Rhythm on Horse' (their English could do with a polish) but their horses were polished to perfection and performed the aforesaid equestrian 'ballet' with grace and style.
A mixture of Wild west and Spanish tradition prevailed as the men (quite hunky looking Spaniards) rode the horses with spanish girls ( elegant Senoritas) in fabulous Spanish costume riding behind them side saddle as they went through their paces in time to the music.
Then came a set with the horses being led by rein to perform a range of amazing feats (I hate to say tricks) of trotting and dancing in time to the music (I'm sure one of them was actually tap dancing!!) and then walking on hind legs and even leaping into the air kicking both front legs and rear legs out at the same time quite incredible. They were immaculately groomed as were their riders and the show was very impressive.
We got back in time to catch the end of the Flamenco show at the hotel which looked very good but no where as beautifully performed as the horses.

Glad you're bearing up ok at the hotel guys! Sounds like you're making the most of the hold up due to the dodgy motorhome keys..... I hope they get them sorted quickly so you can resume your travels. Everything back to normal on the home front.... I'm filling my tubes again and have finally shaken my virus, Harry is back to school and enjoying being with his mates and Bec is battling on at work under some tough circumstances. The weather is meant to be turning cold over the next few weeks so don't rush home, enjoy the sun! Give us a bell at the weekend if you're not off bungee jumping or on the vino ;o) X

Wish I'd been there to see the horses in action - I'd have loved it!
Glad you're enjoying yourselves. Kx

This sounds very like the show that I saw many years ago when we were on holiday in Torremolinos. I thought the connection between man and horse was just unbelievable and the total trust in each other was unbelievable. A very impressive show!
