Motorhome Problems

After 10 years of good service our motorhome has decided that this is the year it's telling us it's tired.!!
It all started with the exhaust breaking in two and sourcing a replacement delayed our winter sun holiday by 3 days.
Then just after leaving Benidorm rally site we had a bulge appear on the rear offside tyre which fortunately Colin noticed when we stopped for fuel. We were delayed by 2 hours while the breakdown chappie changed the wheel and showed us a three inch split probably caused by a metal object. All tyres were new 2 years ago but we were thankful to avoid a blow out on the motorway and the implications of that.
We finally arrived at the Cabopino site in Marbella and were about to reverse onto our pitch and 'hey presto' ...no ignition........ and the engine management warning light was on. Three burly Brits pushed us onto the pitch and fortunately we were booked into Kay's Hapimag hotel in Marbella for the New Year week giving us time to get it fixed. Plenty of time to get it fixed we thought forgetting the extended holiday period made longer by the Spanish custom of celebrating the Festival of the Three Kings denoting the end of the Christmas period 6th January.
We finally delivered the motorhome to the main Peugeot dealer in Marbella for an electronic diagnosis of the problem and have to delay the next leg of our journey to Lagos in Portugal while the problem can be fixed. We hope it is not too serious or costly and can get home with it fixed. It is a good job we are comfortable in a 5 star hotel and the weather is wonderful.
Oh the joys of motorhoming perhaps next year we will exchange it for a caravan!
The vehicle like us is getting old and needs some TLC.
It's travelling days are almost over the same as us it's getting too much trouble.
This trip has proved to us that the long haul journeys are over and next year we will settle for several weeks in one place rather that a multi- stop trip. Preferably travelling by car.
