News report:
'Deaths have been confirmed after a massive aftershock struck Christchurch this afternoon. Witnesses reported seeing people crushed by falling debris in the central city. '
Nearing the end of our tour of South Island we leave here to return our campervan on Sunday to Christchurch. Slightly nervous as the recent quake was 6.3 and seems to have caused considerable damage and injury to passers by and possible fatalities.
We had intended to spend a few days in Christchurch before we returned to North Island but are now considering just getting in and out as quickly as possible presuming there are still flights leaving.

Thought of you as soon as we heard news. Glad all OK and safe. Other friends of mine were v.close and said experience was frightening!! No doubt!!. If you need any assist from UK let me know re: travel etc meanwhile, take care and keep safe.
