Where I stayed
We arrived at Port Hardy in the evening and
checked-in at a nice backpackers. The evening was spent with a beer and a tasty
salad at a bar downtown. Together with other travelers we were picked up by a
school bus at five o’clock the next morning. We were brought to the ferry dock
for the 15-hour-journey to Prince Rupert. Right at the dock we met a friendly
German lady, traveling by herself, and spend the rest of the journey mainly
chatting away with her. The well known ferry ride is called “Inside passage”
because the ferry winds its way all around many different uninhabited islands
all the way to Prince Rupert, it’s supposed to be beautiful. But we were not so
lucky with the weather… rain as well as fog disillusioned our journey a bit.
But anyway, we enjoyed the ride.
