We had a real LA experience today. After a sleep-in (9am for the kids) to recover from jetlag, we headed out to do the Hollywood thing - walk the avenue of the stars, meeting characters such as Dumbledore, the Caribbean Pirate and Marilyn Monroe; then a drive through Beverly Hills, and up to the Hollywood Hills to see the view of the city. And true to form, we hit a traffic jam on the freeway on the way home, due to a truck accident.
Lunch was Mexican today - we've been looking forward to some Southern Californian fare. I hesitated when asked if I wanted black bean or pinta bean in my Nachos - whatever they are.
We gave the Guiness Records exhibition and the Ripleys museum a miss (should be called Rip-off - they didn't even show their prices at the front, and I understood why when I asked - US$57 for all of us).
