Where I stayed
When we arrived at our room we found it to be acceptable
The grounds at this particular resort are GORGEOUS. The pool area is large. It is shared with it's sister hotel, the Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort. In the time that we did spend at the pool it didn't appear that the hotel had staff available for drink orders unless you went to the pool bar. You cannot see the pool area from the rooms. There is a wide bricked path that runs on the outside of the resort from the lobby area to near the beach. There is a tram that runs back and forth throughout the day because it is a longer walk. There are also lit paths that run the length of the resort in between the hotel buildings and the pool area in what we liked to call the "jungle".
The Iberostar Resorts does have a children's program called the Lucy's Kids Club. There are some families whose children attended kids club all day and really seemed to enjoy it.
Although the hotel grounds were well taken care of, we did have a few issues with the staff (i.e. wrong directions given throughout the resorts, room maintenance on several occasions, room service; etc.). We felt that this particular property would benefit from additional staff training. The hotel is given a high rating with many tour operators; however we felt that the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar did not meet the standards that other properties in the same rating have met.
